Karen Amstutz (she/her)

Karen Amstutz (she/her) Karen Amstutz lives on the western edge of Yosemite National Park with her husband. Like many mountain creatures, Karen makes a seasonal migration upslope to Tuolumne Meadows where she works each summer as a Park Ranger-Naturalist and manages the interpretive program there. Having spent every childhood summer in the Sierran subalpine zone, she finds that she is well adapted for this life zone. Karen earned her MA from Humboldt State University and her BS from UC Davis. She has been fortunate to have worked as a naturalist for her whole long career. With her binoculars always around her neck, Karen has traveled extensively in search of new adventures and feathered life forms. For all of the travel experiences, she knows that there is no place like home...in the Sierra.
