Juniper Bishop (they/them)
Juniper (they/them) is the canoe coordinator for the Mono Lake Committee. They have birded all over the American West, from the Sonoran Desert to the Cascade Mountains. Their time as a point count technician in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks made them particularly attuned to the birds of the Sierra Nevada, and spending last summer canoeing on Mono Lake deepened their wonder for birds’ ingenuity and resilience. When they aren’t paddling a boat or listening to the dawn chorus, Juniper can be found hiking or climbing in the granite expanse of the Sierra Nevada’s alpine.
