Birding DeChambeau Ponds & Ranch

Friday 6:30 AM-10:30 AM
Trip# 213: Birding DeChambeau Ponds & Ranch
Tags: low elevation < 8,000' multiple locations
Description: Fresh water sources are few and far between in the Mono Basin. Small ponds, springs, and even roadside puddles can act as localized oases in the vast sea of sagebrush. Join Ellie, ESIA's Lead Naturalist, to scour some of these productive hot spots along Mono Lake's north shore, including DeChambeau Ranch, DeChambeau Ponds, and time allowing, the County Ponds. We'll keep our eyes peeled for waterbirds, breeding songbirds, and sagebrush specialists alike. (est. driving miles: 25; hiking difficulty: easy)
